Civic Society Initiative - Convention
The convention was hosted by Blackpool Civic Trust and held on 15th / 16th October 2009 at St Johns Conference Centre, Blackpool.
The purpose of the gathering was to meet and share experiences with civic societies from across the country and to contribute to the discussion being led by the Civic Society Initiative on the role of the civic society movement and the best means to organise, fund and manage things moving forward.
In addition to a full day of seminars and workshops on Friday 16th, there was a a busy programme to be enjoyed on Thursday 15th, including:
- Joining a series of guided walks around Blackpool.
- Enjoying a civic drinks reception in the company of The Mayor and Mayoress of Blackpool, Councillor Norman & Mrs Barbara Hardy.
- Having the opportunity to be entertained over an evening meal while networking with colleagues.
