Blackpool Civic Week - 12th to 17th June 2017

Blackpool Civic Trust celebrated this year's national Civic Day with an afternoon tea at Dahlia's Kitchen at which it presented the 2017 award for the Best Kept Street to Cherry Tree Gardens. Residents from Cherry Tree Gardens attended the event, together with one of their local councillors, Luke Taylor, who had nominated the area for the award.

Joan Humble, Chair of Blackpool Civic Trust, said 'We were very pleased to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Blackpoool, Cllr Ian Coleman and Mrs Mavis Coleman, together with Blackpool South's MP, Gordon Marsden. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon tea provided by Dahlias Kitchen and celebrated the commitment of the residents of Cherry Tree Gardens to supporting 'civic pride' where they live.

Civic Week Heritage Quiz Night & Supper
St Johns Community Centre, St Johns Square, Church Street, Blackpool, FY2 9RG. Price includes quiz, hot pot, mushy peas, pickled onions, beetroot, red cabbage, a choice of desserts and soft drinks.?

June 15th - 11am - Coffee Morning - Free
Civic Week Coffee Morning
Come and join us at Marton Methodist Church, Mudgeland Road for a coffee morning have a chat about Civic Trust and come and look at some of our memorabilia, tea, coffee, toast, toasted teacakes and biscuits will be served, in addition we will also hold a raffle.

 

June 16th - Time TBC - Layton Village Tour - Free

Our Projects Officer is very kindly organising a walking tour around Layton and hopefully visiting St Marks Church.

 

June 17th - 2pm - Afternoon Tea - Members ?7.50 Non Members ?10
Civic Day Celebration Afternoon Tea
Dahlias?s Kitchen, Cropper Road. Price includes assorted sandwiches, selection of homemade cakes, scones, jam and clotted cream, pot of Lancashire tea or coffee and a glass of of Pimms. Raffle and Tombola will be held as well.

Cherry Tree Gardens were awarded the Best Street of the Year 2017.
